Recycled PE (rPE) Bags — Our Core Material, Made From Pellet to Print In-House
Recycled polyethylene is where our vertical integration pays off most directly. Post-consumer resin enters our pelletizing lines, is blown into film on our own lines, and leaves as printed, converted bags — every step under one quality system. The result: rPE packaging with 30–100% certified PCR content, consistent gauge, and documentation your compliance team can actually verify.

Technical profile
Technical Profile — Typical Values
| Material family | Recycled LDPE / LLDPE blends |
|---|---|
| PCR content | 30–100% post-consumer (GRS Scope Certificate TE-00057717) |
| Film thickness | 50–80 µm (LiHai production range) |
| Tensile strength (MD) | 18–25 MPa |
| Dart impact (50–80 µm) | 300–600 g |
| Heat-seal window | 110–150 °C |
| Service temperature | −40 to +70 °C |
| Moisture barrier | High (MVTR ~1–2 g/m²·24h at 50 µm) |
| Oxygen barrier | Low — not for oxygen-sensitive goods |
| Clarity | Translucent to opaque; haze increases with PCR % |
Typical values — customizable to spec. Final parameters are confirmed against your product, filling line and test protocol.
Higher PCR content raises haze and can shift colour slightly towards grey — we compensate with masterbatch and ink coverage, and we will show you drawdowns before you commit.
Fit check
Where Recycled PE (rPE) Performs — and Where It Doesn't
Strong fits
- E-commerce mailers and courier bags — high puncture and tear resistance at low cost; self-seal strips and tamper-evident closures convert cleanly. See our e-commerce mailer programmes.
- Retail shopping and carrier bags — printable in up to 10 colours on our presses; see shopping bag programmes and carrier bag formats.
- Industrial liners and covers — heavy-gauge options within our 50–80 µm standard range, custom above on request; see industrial packaging.
Honest limitations
— rPE is a poor oxygen barrier. For food products needing shelf-life extension, look at our multi-layer coex structures.
— Not suitable for high-temperature filling above ~70 °C.
— 100% PCR film is not optically clear; if shelf visibility matters, consider recycled PP or a partial-PCR blend.
Evidence
Supply Chain and Compliance Evidence
- 2 pelletizing lines + 2 film-blowing lines in-house — recycled flake to finished film without third-party resin brokers
- 8 printing presses (including one 10-colour line); slitting 800–1300 mm
- GRS TE-00057717 · OEKO-TEX SH003 168118 · SMETA ZC5000065444 · EuCertPlast-aligned documentation
- EU PPWR 2030/2040 recycled-content reporting support; UK plastic packaging tax evidence pack on request
- Carbon context: each tonne of virgin PE replaced with recycled content avoids roughly 2.6 t CO₂e (industry estimate)
- Supplied into UK supermarket programmes and European retail systems (client names under NDA)

Frequently Asked Questions
At our standard 50–80 µm gauges, 100% PCR film retains the tensile and dart-impact performance required for mailers and retail bags. For very thin films or demanding drop tests, we typically recommend 50–70% PCR as the sweet spot — and we will prove it with samples before production.
